The Battle of Bedford Falls

The decision has been made. After much deliberating, much fasting, and much praying we will be moving all the way to Provo this fall where Andrew will pursue a Master's in Public Administration from BYU, focusing on non-profit work. The reasons are many and varied, you don't want to hear them all here. Above all, we've come to the conclusion that this is the track that will provide the most opportunities down the road for service to fellowmen (particularly those in refugee and immigrant groups). It would have been fun to live in Boston and pursue publishing, but as George Bailey teaches us, sometimes sacrifice is required so that the most good can be done for the most people (It was actually Meredith that brought up this prospect being like "the battle of Bedford Falls.") We're still quite sure we'll live out of the state eventually, probably upon graduation in 2010. When Andrew went and talked to the folks down at BYU they told him he'd get the best job with a non-profit promoting civil rights in D.C.
Adventure awaits! And baby comes soon! Onward!
Thanks for your votes! And your prayers! We're glad to have made a decision and be moving full-steam ahead!

The Girl of My Dreams

Okay, now it's my turn to give my Ariel some deserved attention.
If only you could all see her go. She works and serves day in and day out. She works at the International Distribution Center for the Church where she assists all the good people from South America and the Caribbean in receiving their church materials. Here's a sample of what one of them said when they heard she was quitting after the baby comes:

Dearest sister Ariel,
This separation is very hard to me, I cannot explain how you help me in the distribution, receive materials was a great chalenge for Haiti but with you it becomes the easier thing.
Also you will have a baby, that`s wonderful. My daughter has nor 4 months, she brings great joy in my life, I know how the importance of baby.
Sister Ariel, may God continues to bless your as you are serving.
Prosner.

So at work she's serving the Lord and her neighbors. But it doesn't stop there. After work last week she spent time comforting a woman in our ward whose husband was arrested and will likely be deported. This is not an uncommon way for her to spend her free time. She often comes home to make me extraordinary dinners before I've returned from work, or while I do homework. Yesterday when I got home she made me lie down so she could give me a back rub before I went off to play practice.
Ariel is the most amazing person in this world. I love her dearly, and am the happiest pup alive to be married to her.

Big River at the Grand!!

Well, hopefully most of you figured out that we're not really having twins. Twins would be fun, but we're happy to be starting with one.

BUT, this isn't a joke: Andrew's playing HUCK in BIG RIVER again! This time it's at the Grand Theatre on State Street and 1700 South. The run starts May 2nd, and goes to May 17th. Here's the link to buy your tickets:

Hope to see you all there!

Twins!

Just for the record, anybody who reads this post after April 1st, keep in mind, that that's the day that it was written.

Ariel's been growing so fast that Dr. Sharp ordered that we get another ultrasound. This morning we received the result: Twins! We don't know where that other little guy has been hiding all this time!
